The California Writers Club, Sacramento Branch’s monthly Writers Network’s breakfast meeting for September will feature Carmel L. Mooney.
Writing About Travel
Carmel L. Mooney is a travel writer, columnist, author and radio talk show host. Her titles include: “Money the Write Way” and “How to Break In or Survive and Thrive as a Travel Writer in the Current Economy.” Her bylines and photographs appear in national and international magazines and newspapers. She teaches seminars on writing and publishing at writers’ conferences and colleges throughout the country.
In addition to her writing, Carmel also hosts seven different websites, not including her Facebook and Twitter accounts. When she isn’t at her computer you’ll find her writing articles in exchange for free travel, dining, and entertainment at dude ranches, bed and breakfasts, resorts, theme parks, cruises, press trips and FAM tours.
Carmel also co-hosts the 26 year-old radio talk show, “On Tour with Dave and Carmel,” which airs one hour on Sundays, KJAY 1430 AM in Sacramento and has been doing this for 15 years. On this informative and entertaining show, Carmel covers travel destinations, dining reviews, entertainment and more. Also close to home and probably known by most of us, Carmel is the travel expert for Sacramento and Company.
Friday, September 2, 2011 – 9:00 a.m. – 11 a.m. The public is invited.
CWC membership not required.
Writers Network is held the first Friday of every month at the International House of Pancakes (IHOP), 2216 Sunrise Blvd., Rancho Cordova (just north of Highway 50).
