June Writers Network: Author Amy Rogers on Getting Published in 2012

Friday, June 1st, 2012,  9:00 a.m. – 11 a.m.

The public is invited. CWC membership not required for first visit or two.

The California Writers Club, Sacramento Branch’s monthly Writers Network’s breakfast meeting for June will feature thriller author Amy Rogers discussing Publishing Choices in 2012: YOUR Path to Publication.

You’re a writer and you want your work to be published.  Never before in history have you had so many choices about what to do next.  What does it mean to be “published” in 2012?  And which of the innumerable ways to earn or buy publication best suits your individual needs and aspirations?

Dr. Amy Rogers, author, critic, and educator, has been closely following developments in the book business over the past few years.  She will discuss the myriad paths to publication available to writers today.  Based on your personal goals and strengths, she will help you decide the best way to get your book in front of readers.

About the Speaker:

Amy Rogers, M.D./Ph.D., is a Harvard-educated scientist who switched from teaching biology at California State University to writing science-themed thriller novels.  Her debut novel Petroplague is about a biotechnology disaster in which oil-eating bacteria contaminate the fuel supply of Los Angeles and paralyze the city.  She has been recognized as part of the Debut Author Class of International Thriller Writers (2011-2012) and at Left Coast Crime 2012.  Her website ScienceThrillers.com attracts readers who enjoy science, medicine, or technology in their leisure reading with book reviews, author interviews, book giveaways, and much more related to science in fiction.
