Criticism: Meet Confidence!
Saturday, November 21, 2015 11:00 AM-1:00 PM
On Saturday, November 21, 2015, the California Writers Club, Sacramento Branch proudly presents Kevin Smokler on “Criticism: Meet Confidence!” at the Luncheon Meeting.
The writer’s life comes with triumph and disappointment. You can always count on the disappointment. What writers do with and learn from that disappointment is often the difference between success and near misses. How do you turn bad news and rejection into wisdom and the will to fight another day?
Kevin Smokler is the author of Practical Classics: 50 Reasons to Reread 50 Books You Haven’t Touched Since High School (2013) and a forthcoming book on 80s movies (2016). His writing has appeared in The Los Angeles Times, The San Francisco Chronicle, Buzzfeed and on NPR. He has lectured at universities, conferences and corporations throughout North America on leading your best creative life.
At the San Francisco Writers Conference, Kevin Smokler is a popular writing consultant and provides private one-on-one consultations for a fee, which he donates to the SFWC Scholarship Program. Attendees can ask just about anything—writing, marketing their work and building their writing career.
