Christine L. Villa is an all-around creative explorer who lives with her Maltipoo named Haiku. She is a children’s book author, haiku and tanka poet, publisher, speaker, photographer, mixed media artist, and crafter. Several of her poems, photos, and artwork have won awards and recognition. Among the ten picture book titles she has published since 2014, five have won awards in the Northern California Publishers and Authors Book Award Competitions and the Royal Dragonfly Book Awards. She is the founder of Purple Cotton Candy Arts, a fast-growing business that publishes children’s books. She is also the founding editor of Frameless Sky (the very first haiku and tanka video journal that offers collaborations of art, poetry, and music) and its imprint Velvet Dusk Publishing (a small printing press that publishes Japanese short-form poetry, cherita, and mixed-genre full-length books, chapbooks, and ebooks.
