Nida Spalding hails from the mystical island of Siquijor, Philippines. She graduated from Silliman University with a degree in Mass Communication. As a reporter for the Weekly Sillimanian, she covered the office of the University President. She worked as an intern for DYLA radio in Cebu City. After college, she worked as a writer for Tourist Research and Planning in Metro Manila, Philippines.
In 1980, Nida migrated to Northern California and spent 34 years in the workforce. When she became a mother, writing about her family became a priority. Nida is a contributor to California Update, an online magazine (caupdate.com).
