Aziza Parker

It was apparent from an early age that Aziza was born to be involved with books and writing.  She could read before she entered kindergarten, and when she was still in elementary school she joined with a classmate to write and print a neighborhood newsletter that included short fiction and drawings.

With a major in English both in high school and at UC Berkeley, what else could she concentrate on?  She helped her mother write plays and articles for Scout troop publications, and at the time of her mother’s death was helping her write the definitive book on scrap craft.

In the 1980s, Aziza wrote a newspaper column about words called Logorrhea, and for several years at that time participated in a group round-robin effort known as Word Share.

Aziza is now working on a memoir about other activities in her life and is trying to finish her mother’s craft book, which is hard to do on her own.
