Strategies and Tools for Writing and Publishing Short Stories

On Friday, April 1, 2016, Frederick Foote, author of a short story collection, For The Sake of Soul, will address the CWC Sacramento Branch Writers Network breakfast meeting on “Strategies and Tools for Writing and Publishing Short Stories.”
Fred took a short story writing class at Sacramento City College in 2013. His first short story was published in 2014 and since then he has had over 80 stories and poems published. In October 2015, Blue Nile Press published his book, For the Sake of Soul—a collection of short stories set in the South, Central California, and the 1960s Viet Nam and Civil Rights era.
Frederick K Foote, Jr. was born in Sacramento, California and educated in a racially segregated elementary school in Vienna, Virginia until he was twelve and returned to Sacramento and its economically and racially segregated schools. He served in the United States Air Force for three years and nine months; retired from the State of California in 2001, and taught at California Community colleges for over ten years and at a traditionally black college in South Carolina.

The public is invited. CWC membership not required.
Writers Network is held the first Friday of every month at the International House of Pancakes (IHOP), 2216 Sunrise Blvd., Rancho Cordova (just north of Highway 50) starting at 9 AM. Meetings are free. Attendees pay for their own breakfast. Get map.
