The Sacramento Public Library is having their inaugural Local Author Book Festival on Sunday, April 12, 2015, and our California Writers Club, Sacramento Branch is proud to be invited to participate. Outreach Coordinator Nanci Lee Woody and President Margie Yee Webb will represent our club and greet attendees to tell them about our programs and activities and hand out flyers.
The festival will be held at the Tsakopoulos Library Galleria, 828 I Street, Sacramento (next to the Central Library), from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Free metered parking is available around the library on Sundays. Plan to attend and visit with some of the Sacramento area authors, listen to some author presentations as well as stop by our CWC Sacramento Branch table.
Authors invited to participate represent a wide range of genres, styles and ages. Among the 40 authors appearing will be:
- Maryellen Burns, food writer and author of Lost Restaurants of Sacramento.
- Chantelle Feasel, author of Dorobo Dark Days, her third science fiction novel.
- Maceo Montoya, author of Letters to the Poet from His Brother and U.C. Davis Chicano Studies professor.
- Gayle Pittman, children’s author of This Day in June, a book about LGBT families, and received the 2015 Stonewall Book Award from the American Library Association.
