California Writers Club, Sacramento Branch presents Jan Westmore, author of Images of America: Colfax, on “The Arcadia Publishing Experience” at its March 1, 2013 Writers Network breakfast meeting. Westmore developed a fascination for the history and folklore of the region upon relocating to an old gold mining town in the Sierra foothills not far from Colfax. She will discuss the Colfax book project and working with Arcadia Publishing, a local history press, which is seeking authors for their books.
Her credits include by-lined chapters in Nature Companies, A Walkers Companion (1996) and a leadership book, The Sages Among Us (2012). More than fifty of her articles have been published in magazines and newspapers. Her website is: www.janwestmore.com. Jan is the past president and current non-fiction critique group leader for Sierra Writers, a member of the California Writers Club and past participant at the Squaw Valley Writers Group, a juried writers program. She is a member of the Colfax Area Historical Society, the Placer County Historical Society and the Nevada County Historical Society.
Writers Network is held the first Friday of every month at 9 AM at the International House of Pancakes (IHOP), 2216 Sunrise Blvd., Rancho Cordova (just north of Highway 50). Meetings are free. Attendees pay for their own breakfast. Get map
