Gerry Ward of the I Street Press
The October 19th luncheon will be an extended meeting to commemorate California Writers Week. The theme is: “Create. Celebrate. Community.”
Luncheon guest speaker will be Gerry Ward of I Street Press. He will discuss the process of creating books using the Sacramento Public Library’s Espresso book machine. He will also talk about the benefits of making I Street Press your publisher, including: providing an ISBN number and listing your book in Books in Print to make it available to bookstores nationwide.
Gerry holds a Masters degree in Library and Information Science from San Jose State University. He has worked for the public Library in Sacramento for over 24 years. It is often a source of frustration for authors who have published an ebook when people keep asking them for a standard paperback. Signings are not possible with an ebook because there’s nothing on which to sign, thus, promotional opportunities are limited. The I Street Press service broadens the author’s book promoting range and sales opportunities.
*Get Your Book in ‘Local Author’ Collection at the Sacramento Public Library -Sacramento County authors are invited to bring their book(s) to the meeting; include a note marked “local author” along with their name, book title, email address and telephone number.
*Debut of our CWC Sacramento Member Display -Coordinated and Designed by Phawnda Moore.
*Celebrate California Writers Week (Third week in October) -Writers’ Published Work Displays and Networking, 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. -Members and Guests are invited to bring their published work and connect with other writers and experts.
The monthly CWC luncheons are held at Cattlemens Restaurant, 12409 Folsom Blvd., Rancho Cordova from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for the California Writers Week celebration.
