2013 Short Story, Poetry, Nonfiction Contest
Theme: The Truest Wisdom

Submission requirements:
- Your short story, poem or nonfiction must touch on the theme “The truest wisdom” in some way. Entries must be previously unpublished.
- Short story and nonfiction entries may not exceed 2,500 words. Poetry may not exceed 100 lines.
- Entries must be typed in Times New Roman, 12-point font, and they must be double-spaced. (Poetry may be single-spaced.) All entries must be on one side only of white 8 ½ by 11 paper. Note: Failure to adhere to the rules of entry format will result in disqualification from judging.
To submit your entry: Email to iecawritersclub@gmail.com and include your manuscript as an attachment in MSWord. Include a cover sheet with the following information: Name, address, phone number, email address and category (poetry, fiction, nonfiction) of the entry. (Do not put your name on the manuscript.)
Entry fee: $15 per submission. (For poetry, you may submit up to three poems for the $15 fee.) To pay your fee, send a check or money order payable to IECWC to:

Prizes 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prizes of $125, $75, and $50 will be awarded in each of the short story, poetry and nonfiction categories. First place entries will also be published in Fresh Ink, the online journal of the Inland Empire California Writers Club.
Deadline All entries must be emailed no later than August 15, 2012. Payment for entries must be postmarked no later than August 15, 2012.
Winners Winners will be announced at the September 28, 2013 IECWC meeting at 10:15 a.m. at Ovitt Family Community Library in Ontario, CA. Winners will be notified in advance and do not have to attend the meeting to win.
